Are you in need of prayer and/or someone to share your burden, stand in faith, and take it to the Lord? Call 1-877-800-7729 because PCRN has prayer warriors on stand by. You can text or call (24/7, 365) and someone will be there waiting for you!

If you are a prayer warrior yourself and are interested in volunteering, check out their website, and apply online. As someone who has been a part of the organization for many years, I can tell you that they (we) would love to see you there (on either side of the line).

Here is some more info from the site:

Purpose:

To offer people in every community a toll free phone number to call for prayer and to suggest referral numbers to compassionate crisis organizations that meet the mental, spiritual and physical felt needs of the people in their community.

Objective:

To establish a Prayer and Crisis Referral Network as an alternative of real hope to hurting, and burdened people. We desire to offer God's unconditional love, mercy, and hope expecting life-changing miracles through prayer. In addition, we also lend a hand of compassion by suggesting referrals to organizations and churches that meet the mental and physical needs of our callers.

Vision Statement

God has placed in our hearts a vision to offer God's love and concern to our nation, community by community, offering a message of hope 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through a phone/crisis hot line that includes prayer and suggestions to compassion based churches, ministry and organizations that meet the spiritual as well as felt needs of our callers.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.

WE BELIEVE in one God, the Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ, God's only Son, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. His shed blood and His resurrection provide the only ground for the salvation of all who believe, and faith in His finished work brings those believers into His eternal Kingdom.

WE BELIEVE that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict all people of their sin, and baptize them with power, to produce godly character, and to distribute gifts throughout the church.

WE BELIEVE that the true church is composed of all who have believed in Jesus' finished work and are sacrificially following Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church.

WE BELIEVE that the church is called to worship the Lord, enjoy His Company, and grow in their knowledge of Him. The joy of this relationship is to overflow into the entire world as we declare the Gospel to the nations.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is coming again to receive the church and to judge unbelievers.

WE BELIEVE in intensive evangelism, Christian growth and discipleship.

💙 Peace, love, and blessings to you, through our Savior, Jesus Christ ðŸ’™

As I am nearing my 30th birthday (which is a lot less scarier then I imagined it would be 5 years ago), in combination with hearing multiple tales of young lives lost due to various tragedies recently, and a few other things the Lord has REALLY been pressing upon me the importance of time.

Recently, I saw a church sign in Cedartown, GA that read, “The only thing you can’t get back is time”. Which is so very true, but not something we really think about as we are sitting in front of a computer or television watching meaningless programs or playing attention grabbing video games as the clock hand continues to move on around. Of course we do all need downtime, to recharge, regroup and rest, but we shouldn’t trade chilling for getting stuff done that has to be done … or that which has been given to us as extra work from God.

If it sounds as if I am getting a little bit personal I am, with myself. Years ago (if you have ever heard one of the interviews that have been done for the blog you know this) I began writing devotionals in response to lessons that God was teaching me. I figured that if I had to learn, others did too. I had the curl of a hardheaded, independent teenager/young adult at that time, but through the years I have learned that it is valid, as we are all to grow together as a family of believers. So if you feel any conviction, don’t look to me to – look to the one who is steadily working to transform us into more holy (like Yeshua) people all the time.

For me, I began getting convicted when I received an answer to a prayer. Though I had been given this blessing, it did require work on my part, but I was not putting forth the time in order to enact this gift to its potential. As I pondered this blessing, wondering how I was going to get it done in the time I had while sleepily closing my eyes this verse came upon my audio bible, Proverbs 20:13 “Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread. I realized in that moment that for weeks, sleep had become my priority; this is why I felt like I had no time anymore to get things done. I was closing my eyes to the world almost to equal (if not more-so) to the amount in which they were open. Face palm!

So to finish were we started, we only have so many seconds, minutes, hours, days, years, etc. on this Earth until the Father calls us home. No one knows the exact time they will be here, but we must make the most of the time we have been given. We have all been born with a plan and purpose for our lives, and it is up to us to make sure we are available to carry out that, whenever our instruction(s) is given.

As I recently heard from someone, “There are days I long to go home to Heaven, as I dislike this world, but I think about all of the people who are lost, what if was able to go home earlier and because of me they didn’t get shared the gospel?”

Check out some other verses on time and time-management.

May you all be blessed as you go through-out your days, ever living for and showing the love of our Savior, Yeshua – Jesus Christ.

This is Frank. He was a super awesome, helpful, caring man who assisted us in Little 5 Points on Sundays. I found out today that he was murdered earlier this week; a few of you may have seen the story on television. May I ask that you keep Frank’s family in your prayers during this time!

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

John 14:27 NIV

For those that know me personally or even have taken a gander at this blog, they know that I have a heart for helping the homeless with a soft spot for those who are sexually exploited. One thing, many people may not know, as it has never been discussed at the “round table”, but more so remained silent with my prayers if for persecuted Christians.

We, in the US (and a few other places), have the liberty of true freedom of religious expression. While although in America this is turning to being able to express all other beliefs except Christianity … however, I digress as there are other lands in which to speak out Christ, to own a Bible, etc. is punishable by death, lifelong imprisonment, etc. We know nothing of this here (in the states).

Yet though thanks to the Voice Of The Martyrs we are able to stay somewhat abreast of the happenings in other parts of the world (as well as I am sure other organizations), and with their efforts reach the people in these countries, to provide help and support, as well as, continue to spread the message of truth, that is Jesus Christ.  To read the stories of these men and women who have been tortured, imprisoned and just well, disregarded for their faith is humbling and inspiring.

On 11/11/12 an effort is being put forth called International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, would you all please take part in it and urge others to join?

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.  If they persecuted me, they will persecute you.” John 15:18-20 NIV

Please note other organizations are holding IDOP on 11/4/12 – but honestly, it should be a part of every believers prayer, every day!

Whew, well it seems that it has been a minute or two since I posted under the *LoveIs* tag, but all things are still going well on the Little 5 Points and overall in life (concept) fronts. I would like to introduce Mr Mike who is a new volunteer to the Sunday mission (he himself was once on the other side of things once upon a time). We all feel very blessed with him being there and I do enjoy the way he teaches/preaches. Plus anyone who drives a blue motorcycle already gets some platinum stars in my book. ;)

Prayer requests for Brother Dewey and Brother Jimmy as it seems they are both struggling with some health things right now.

Overdue thanks to one attendee who made a little gift for me [yay for skullies and roses, woot!] Prayers for the person below, that he continues to STAY STRONG with whatever life may bring his way, for as we know each day - is a new day, and to CLING TO JESUS!

Today during the end of our time down there we received a compliment from a passerby stranger, this is "love in action", the woman said - who continued forth with saying she was personally inspired (seems God has been working on her for some time) to go out and help someone(s) in need.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Words fail to express what went on in Little 5 Points today! Without a doubt the Spirit of God was alive and moving, in – through – on and around folks today as we rejoiced in the Son, who gave His life for ALL sinners, learned about the armor of God, rebuked evil and anointed people in the name of Jesus Christ. Today, we were joined by the wife of the man who started ministering to this location so many years ago. As the weather was DIVINE we had a nice size crowd, and without a doubt, lives will be changed because of the wonderful message that was given today!

I ask, should you be so kind, please pray for Mrs. Maddie May, who is the mother (90 + years old) of a participant in the ministry. Yesterday, a health issue arose and her son is very much concerned for her well being. Otherwise, she is lively – sprite lady, with all wits intact, so many thanks from he and I.

Likewise, please pray for a young man who a few weeks ago made a very wrong decision and decided act out of anger, and as such, his life now will be changed forever.

I would be remise also, as one man was very distraught, over his young pup, whom it seemed had some sort of medical emergency last night. A few of the travelers keep pets for safety, as well as companionship, so we want them all to be in good health as well.

Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. John 5:19

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12

Now onto some PHOTOS!!!

BTW I will be on vacation until the 19th, so please no worries due to no posts - lol. Please add me on Twitter (if you'd like) to stay in the know .. plus I LOVE making new friends from all over (just send me a msg letting me know you are a reader) :)

*LoveIs* living for Jesus regardless of your circumstances and how it compares to anyone else. It is boldy declaring that there is but One God, who sent His son to die on behalf of EVERYONE's sin and being led by the Spirit daily, showing that love to others.

Just want to say THANKS GOD for not having the square blow up yesterday after the dry-cleaners caught on fire! You would have almost LOL'd at the sight though, there were like 7 fire trucks out there .. only 1 person tried to pass them all and thankfully they were not hurt (from what I know). In a true lol moment though, as it was on a bit nipper side yesterday am in GA and it seemed brother Dewey and I cooked SO MUCH FOOD, the sounds made even more people come out and get fed.

Prayer request goes out for Jimmy (the other co-brother-leader) who went to the hospital last week (emergency room) for high blood pressure. Seems that it is back under control now, so thank You Father for that.

Praise report goes to the Father for three of the members who now have housing, two with (known) jobs and the one which was a victim of addiction is also clean!

Hope all has a super great week, sic <3

May You feed a hungry world through me.

This is the petition in which my hearts beckons to God, for my own lot in life. I see it staring back at me, every time I look at myself in the bathroom mirror. It is a reminder that my life is pretty awesome, I am saved – have a job – food in my belly and a roof over my head. There are so many people in the world that have only one or two of the things listed, even more so those who have none at all.

Someone asked me today, “What makes you do this Hollie, come out here all smiles and help those who (some) even refuse to help themselves?” My answer was that which it will always be, “Jesus told me to.”

Of course, when I first felt the desire to go to Little 5 Points Atlanta, GA (which according to sources has such a name because on a map the historical points of the town is in the shape of a pentagram), I was confused, scared and kind of felt like a child who wanted to rebuttal to their parents “what the heck for” in a *WHHHYY* sort of manner. Once or twice I went down with friends to hand out items, but it was the day in which I went down by myself that changed it all. Looking back on it, I can see why my loved ones were a bit apprehensive of the move. I mean it isn’t every day someone carrying a backpack of water bottles and a purple roller luggage suitcase filled with paper bags of hygiene items and canned foods is seen strolling around, handing out this and that to whomever they meet (since then though I have walked down Peachtree with a rolling cooler, so my jitters about sticking out has so gone away). Even more so going into an area that has been known to, on occasion, be a house for violence, drug use and sexual exploitation. However, it was on that day that something inside me awakened, it was the day (as my mom likes to put it); I learned to love like Jesus.

Of course as the months have passed, the set up has become a lot more organized since I work alongside a trio of godly men who have been assisting in this area every Sunday for going on 16 years now. Today, I even got to meet someone who was once on the streets, but now showed no trace of his past, only smiles, as he proudly showed off his new grandson to all of his old runaround buddies.

I cannot imagine not doing what is I do, as people have heard me state before – if this could be my full time job, I would be ever so much grateful. I have looked into becoming a 501-c and the like, but a lot more goes into starting such then what meets the eye (aka it requires a lawyer, accountant & money, oh my!). However, I have faith that all things will come to be in God’s timing and it seems that I am not the only one who thinks such, as a few people have mentioned the progression of the ministry, of what they see in the future for it all. By any means, I have already started recruiting those who are about to make their move off of the streets into four walled buildings to come back and assist on Sundays.

So with all of that being said, I leave you with this …

The two buildings (which are now I believe apartments) are where I would love to see the future of this ministry unfold. I would love to convert 1 into a night time homeless shelter, for those which strictly want a place to lay their head / take a shower; and the other into a more “live to work” building in which assists people in a more in-depth way of getting off of the streets, to provide a foundation of sorts . Of course, there would also be a dedicated area for a “church”, a kitchen/dinning area, clothing/goods “shop” and even simple clinic of sorts (1 of the above mentioned in the trio is a RN).

So, with all of that thank you for taking the time to read, much love and prayers for your week & if you know of anyone who can assist in any of the above, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line (email button is on the right sidebar).

Humbly, I ask that if you read this, you do take a moment to pray for Brother Dewey. He started this ministry with his friend (who has since passed on and is now with the Father) 16 years ago and now he himself, has been having some issues with his heart. He hasn’t been able to join for about 2 – 3 months now, and it will be another 1 before the doctors feel comfortable in him returning. So many prayers to God for him, asking for speedy recovery and continued health, as he is such a blessing to those which he has know for these past years and everyone misses him terribly.

I live for Sunday’s, no lie! My favorite part of the week BY FAR is the time in which I get to be down at Little 5 Points, hanging with the crew – meeting new people, chatting with old and praising God for all He has done and will do! If one day this could be my FT lot in life, I’d be so up for it (in addition to writing, of course).

Today, as a special once in a while treat, we had Starbuck’s traveler goodness to warm and hype us all up for the festivities. To be noted … one can NEVER have enough SUGAR (or cream on hand)!

Two moments that stood out for me today were as follows. First, someone said to me, “Hollie I would love to thank you, but I must give thanks to God first”. “Of course, always”, I responded back, “Please never thank me before God, it is by Him alone you and I are here anyways”. My Spirit jumps at this because honestly I am just being a servant of God’s, acting on His behalf and I am no more than an imperfect person who has been saved by Faith and walk by Grace. Humbly, I thank God for allowing me to serve and calling me into this mission, may all the praise – glory and honor for anything I do, ALWAYS go to Him alone. Secondly, a few of us talked on a sermon heard Saturday @ Peachtree and Pine (homeless compound). It seems a very well received message was spoken on how sin is like a python; it will coil itself around your life until you cannot breathe any longer. Per a spectator an actual python, in addition with video images, was used to display this concept. How true the message is! All too often we allow something into our life in just droplets, but then realize sometime later it has taken us over. That is why it is important to examine ourselves as we are told to in Corinthians.

Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgement on themselves. That is why many among you are weak ad sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgement. Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world. So then, my brothers and sisters, when you gather to eat, you should all eat together. Anyone who is hungry should eat something at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further directions. 1 Corinthians 11:28-34 (NIV)

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test? And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong—not so that people will see that we have stood the test but so that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong; and our prayer is that you may be fully restored. 2 Corinthians 13:5-9 (NIV)

Praise report for an unnamed donation, which was VERY unexpected. Though it hasn't been applied yet, it is going to help furnish some blankets, rain gear (ponchos) and socks within the next few weeks.

Prayer request for attendant Little Jimmy please. Back in the fall he had surgery (colon cancer) and things have taken a turn. He is now in continuous care being monitored.

Prayer request for a friend of my mother’s (Bernadette), as she has had some health issues this past week and will now have to reside with her son because of those problems.

Prayer request on a personal vehicular level, as my little (though loved) Sentra will not suitable for purpose for that much longer (in regards to the ministry needs and to-n-fro items), so a potential trade in may be on the horizon (one day a la SUV type). My eye is on the Nissan Juke as I am a NISSAN LOVER FOR LIFE, but putting things in the Father’s hands.

Thank you as always & may you day, week, month, year and life be blessed!
